Violet LED Chips

Description

Violet LED chips are a type of LED chip that emit light in the violet spectral range, which is between 400 and 450 nanometers (nm) in wavelength. Violet light has a shorter wavelength than blue light and is closer in wavelength to the ultraviolet (UV) range.

Violet LED chips are typically made from a semiconductor material, such as gallium nitride (GaN) or indium gallium nitride (InGaN), which is doped with impurities to create a p-n junction that can emit violet light when a voltage is applied. These materials are similar to those used in blue and green LED chips, but with different doping concentrations and thicknesses to produce the desired wavelength.

Violet LED chips are used in a variety of applications, including medical and dental lighting, water purification, and horticultural lighting. They are also used in combination with phosphors to create white light in LED bulbs and displays. The performance of violet LED chips is typically characterized by their efficiency, color quality, and lifetime, which are influenced by factors such as the quality of the semiconductor material, the design of the p-n junction, and the thermal management of the device.
