Description

Single Crystals: ADTGS

ADTGS, or ammonium dihydrogen tris(glycine) sulfate, is a crystal material that belongs to the family of ferroelectric crystals. ADTGS is a single crystal material, which means that it is composed of a single crystal with a regular arrangement of atoms.

Like other ferroelectric crystals, ADTGS has unique physical properties such as high piezoelectric sensitivity, pyroelectricity, and dielectric constant. These properties make them useful in various applications, such as in electronic and optical devices, sensors, and as substrates for epitaxial growth of thin films.

ADTGS has attracted interest due to its excellent properties for acoustic emission monitoring. Acoustic emission is the phenomenon of the generation of transient elastic waves due to the deformation of a material under stress. ADTGS has a high sensitivity to these acoustic emissions and can generate an electrical signal in response to them, making it useful for detecting and monitoring structural damage in materials and structures.

ADTGS is also a promising material for use in other applications such as high-sensitivity vibration sensing, nondestructive testing, and ultrasonic imaging.
