Gd3Sc2Ga3O12 (GSGG) is a single crystal substrate that is commonly used in various optical applications, such as solid-state lasers, scintillators, and nonlinear optical devices. It has excellent physical and chemical properties, such as high thermal stability, mechanical strength, and chemical resistance, making it a suitable substrate for high-power laser applications. GSGG has a cubic crystal structure with lattice parameters of a = 12.383 Å, and a refractive index of about 1.94 at 1064 nm wavelength. Its melting point is around 1870 °C, and its density is about 7.08 g/cm3.
